Habitats

Over the past two weeks we have been exploring different habitats. There are four main habitats that we have explored:

                             Oceans                                                                     Freshwater

Forest                                                                              Arctic

This week we are going to share our favorite habitats, and why! In your descriptions, talk about some of the different flora and fauna found in your favorite habitat, and where the habitat can be found in Canada!

My favorite habitat is the ocean. I like the ocean because I think it is beautiful. The life forms under the sea are very interesting, and so much different than those above the sea! Under the sea there are many different types of flora a fauna. The flora in the ocean includes kelp, seaweed, and corals! My favorite flora in the ocean is corals, because they are so bright and pretty! There are many different fauna in the ocean too, such as fish, jellyfish, whales, and even polar bears, puffins and other land mammals and birds! I think that is it really cool that many of the fauna we are used to seeing on land are also a part of ocean habits, because they often like to swim, or find food from the ocean. Oceans are found in many places, and take up about 75% of the whole earth! The closest ocean to us right now is the Atlantic ocean, and it surrounds all sides of Newfoundland!

Your turn!

  1. I love the images you have included throughout your blog. Specifically for this post, it is very informative. It should give the students a visual framework on the language you are using throughout.
